Hello, my name is
Ginger Champagne. I am excited to be working as principal at Varnado
Elementary. We have the VERY best school in the parish and the VERY best
teachers instructing your children. Of course, I would be remiss if I did
not mention that we also have the very best students and parents in the
parish.
This is going to be a great year at our school. We welcome Mrs. Mary Paduda to our faculty. She will be serving as the Reading First Content Leader. We also are fortunate to have Mrs. Nicole Boyd with us as the new pre-school teacher. Mrs. Amanda McMurray will also be part of our faculty. She will serve our students who are in need of speech services.
We have also had improvements to the building and grounds since last school year. Stumps and debris that were left from Hurricane Katrina have been removed. We are proud of the front of our building - the landscaping and new sign that beautifies our school campus. We have bleachers that are going to be placed around the basketball court. We are asking our school board to approve the funding for a covered area over the court. This will provide shelter from the weather as our children play outside. It will also be used for programs throughout the year. I am excited about all of the possibilities.
