| After attending the new teacher assessor program this summer, I realized that what I learned needed to be shared with all teachers at our school. I talked to my principal and we decided that this information could be shared through the focus group meetings. Our main focus has been the Louisiana Components of Effective Teaching. With the No Child Left Behind act that was signed into legislation this year we are also focusing on research-based teaching strategies. We meet at least two times each month for job-embedded professional development. In order to give our teachers release time to attend the focus group meetings, we have used money from several pots, 8g, K-3 Reading Initiative, CSRD, and Title I, to pay for the substitute teacher. Feel free to use any of the topics below in your meetings. |
